Broad Street Ballroom

Truly elegant event space that ironically hosts Friday Night Fights – an “Old School Fight Club.”  Get there early, as there’s only one entrance to the venue.

Terminal 5

This is one of the largest venues for live music in NYC, so it can get quite crowded – think lines galore.  The acoustics are ok, but they do get great headliners.

Roseland

We’ve been seeing shows here for years.  Try and get a spot in the mezzanine, if it’s non-vip, it’s the best and least crowded spot to see the show.

Hammerstein Ballroom

The acoustics and the headliners here are fantastic!  Look up at the amazing ceiling – it might distract you from what’s on stage.  Bathrooms and coat check are downstairs.

Irving Plaza

One of our favorite venues for general admission concerts.  But direct at their box office and avoid paying ticket broker fees!

Music Hall of Williamsburg

One of the best and friendliest music venues in NYC.  They even have a live feed of the concert, so you won’t miss a beat when getting drinks for all your friends.

Warsaw

Welcome back to your high school gym…if your school had semi-big name headliners and cheap drinks.  The acoustics leave much to be desired but it’s fun non-the-less.

Saint Vitus

If you’re not into metal, punk or hardcore rock, then you should definitely go somewhere else.  Come for happy hour and their steamed pork buns!

The Town Hall

An intimate venue without a bad seat!  It is showing a little bit of wear and tear, but that’s part of the charm.  Waiting for a drink is less than charming and you can’t take it to your seat.

Southpaw

Fantastic space to see your favorite indie band, grab a few drinks or dance the night away. Not a bad vantage point in the place.

Best Live Music: Bowery Ballroom

(Gowalla) Dirty, dark, and loud as hell, it’s everything great New York rock and roll should be. Many of the best up and coming indie bands play here first before moving on to the bigger venues.

The Knitting Factory

Awesome space to hear your favorite underground band perform. The front bar features TV Party! And Double Feature! on Monday and Tuesday nights!

Beacon Theatre

One of the best places in the city to catch a live performance. Fantastic old-time, authentic New York venue to see a band, with what feels like the original, upholstered seating.

Nokia Theatre Times Square

Can be a little tough to find, but look for the curved jumbotron by the MTV building. Great place for corporate events, with comfortable seating. Arrive early & hang out downstairs at the bar.
